Understanding Our Code of Conduct

As leaders, servants, and students called to ministry, our lives are a public reflection of Christ and His Church. This Ministry Code of Conduct outlines the core commitments and behavioural standards required of every student enrolled in the School of Ministry. By joining this community, you commit to upholding these principles in your private life, academic pursuits, and public ministry.

Christlike Character & Integrity: Students are expected to pursue holiness, honesty, and moral integrity in every area of life. This includes practicing transparency in relationships, upholding academic honesty, and avoiding any conduct that disqualifies a leader according to biblical standards (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).
Servant Leadership: Following the model of Jesus, we lead by serving others. This means putting the needs of the community above self-interest, submitting to proper spiritual authority, and approaching ministry tasks—no matter how small—with humility and excellence.
Relational Health & Honour: Our community is built on mutual respect and biblical honor. We commit to resolving conflicts using the principles of Matthew 18, abstaining from gossip or divisive speech, and actively building up our peers, instructors, and local church leaders.
Stewardship of Gifts and Calling: Students are expected to treat their training as a sacred stewardship. This requires punctuality, faithful attendance, diligent study, and a commitment to actively serving within a local church body throughout the duration of the program.

Understanding Our Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct is not a rigid list of legalistic rules; it is a guardrail designed to protect your calling and shape your character. In the New Testament, spiritual authority is always tethered to spiritual maturity. Therefore, understanding why we hold these standards is just as important as keeping them.

Formation Over Formalism: The goal of this code is heart-transformation, not outward conformity. Ministry training requires more than just filling your head with information; it requires molding your character to match the weight of your calling. These standards help cultivate the discipline necessary for sustainable, lifelong ministry.
A Culture of Accountability: Ministry was never meant to be walked out in isolation. This code establishes a culture of high accountability where students, staff, and mentors look out for one another. It provides a healthy framework for course correction, healing, and growth before you step into full-time leadership.
Protecting the Gospel’s Reputation: As ministers of the gospel, our personal conduct directly impacts how the world views Jesus and His Church. This code reminds us that our lifestyle is our first and most powerful sermon. We willingly restrict certain personal freedoms out of love for others and reverence for the gospel.

Key Elements of the Code

To help you successfully navigate your time in the School of Ministry, our behavioral expectations are built around four essential pillars. These key elements translate biblical values into daily habits, ensuring that your character keeps pace with your calling.

Moral & Ethical Purity: We expect students to honor God with their bodies, choices, and habits. This involves maintaining healthy boundaries in dating and marriage, practicing absolute honesty in financial and academic matters, and guarding your heart against behaviors that compromise your spiritual authority.
Speech That Builds Up: In a digital and vocal world, your words matter. The code requires students to refrain from gossip, slander, and divisive language—both in person and on social media. Instead, we use our speech to encourage, clarify conflict directly and privately, and protect the unity of the body.
Faithful Stewardship & Attendance: Ministry requires reliability. A key element of our code is showing up—on time, prepared, and fully engaged. This applies to your classroom attendance, your assignment deadlines, and your commitment to serving faithfully in your local church.
Submission to Spiritual Authority: True leaders know how to follow. We expect students to maintain a teachable, respectful attitude toward instructors, staff, and spiritual leadership. This includes receiving constructive feedback, respecting classroom guidelines, and honoring the leaders God has placed over you.
